5 Families with children often go to amusement parks. There are a lot of rides there. But every ride has its rules, a) Listen to an announcement and put down the statements from it that mean the following: 1. You are not allowed to put your arms or legs outside the car. 2. You are not allowed to leave your seats at any time. 3. Definitely not allowed. 4. You are not allowed to leave the car until it has stopped completely, b) Discuss the rules of the ride. The following questions may be helpful to you. • What are you allowed to do during the ride? • What are you not allowed to do? • What should you remember to do before leaving the ride? • Do you think these rules are fair? Why? Why not? 2. The Pickard family have come to the amusement park. They all want to have a ride, a) Look at the warning signs. Formulate the rules of the ride.
b) Who of the Pickard family is allowed to go On the ride? Why? a) Match the ages with the things you think young people are allowed to do in the United Kingdom at these ages. E.g. You are allowed to become a member of Parliament at 21.
